"European Federation of Mentors for Girls and Young Women"
Youth in Action Improvement of Innovation and Quality
Participants: 16 Organisations in 13 countries. Mentees, School - Girls, Students, (Young) Women in Projects/ in Companies, Mentors, Youth Workers, Decision Makers, Politicians, Professors, Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce/Trade Union, Projectmanager/-staff, Researchers, Gender and Equal Commissioner, Business Returner, Entrepreneurs, Journalists, ……
Duration: 12 months
Main activities for the project: 
Webportal www.womentor.eu 
- presentation of member organisation and their work -interviews, workshops, analyses, surveys, reports and live content (blog etc.) 
- participation in the exchange of informations 
- contact other organisations 
forward the link to our website to organisations in members countries that are working in the field of supporting girls and young women and want to be presented on the webportal 
National Research 
- which organisations are supporting the needs of girls/young women 
- how do they work 
- how and in which field does mentoring take place 
- are there shortcomings – accumulated needs 
- promoting the development of a thematic network 
- studies about the situation of girls and young women 
According to the national or local circumstances and the target group members where asked to organise one national or local workshop. The workshops focused on important topics in the field of girls’ promotion. 
Duration of the workshop: 1 - 3 days 
Participants: 7 – 25 people 
Meeting and Interviews before and after the workshop 
“Projectoffice” participated at the workshop (2 people). 
There was a project meeting before the workshop. 
Before or after the workshop there was left some time for video-interviews with the partners and/or participants (e.g. the day after the workshop). 
International Meeting 
- presenting the results of the research and the workshop 
- discussions of future cooperation 
The International Meeting was the only time that all the partners got together. 
„European Federation of Mentors for Girls and Young Women“ 
at the International Meeting an European Federation was established 
- presentation of member organisation and the results of the workshop 
- preparing the founding of the European Federation 

Conference in Graz October 2008 
Mentoring 
One of the workshops planned at the International Meeting was the workshop “Mentoring”. 
All the partners gave a presentation on mentoring programs for girls and young women that already We as Projectoffice will give a presentation on mentoring programs for girls and young women. We would appreciate it if you could give a short presentation on mentoring programs that have already been put into practice. 
Establishing a Federation 
The formal establishment of the Federation with registered office in Graz took place place during this workshop. That means that the representatives of the partner organisations present at this workshop have to be authorised to legally sign for the membership of the Federation. 
Proposed objectives of the Federation: 
Lobbying for Mentoring / Girls and Young Women 
Standards of Mentoring 
Development of Cooperations and Projects 
Transfer/Exchange of Know-How 
Please send us your input as soon as possible so we can organise the workshop.
Participation - Workshop 
The workshop „Participation“ dealt with how it is possible to arouse interst for social life and politicial processes in girls and young women and the enthusiasm to participate. 
Themes discussed: 
What kind of approaches to this theme are appealing to girls and young women? 
What instruments and methods are necessary to clarify the importance of democratic acts, political power of analysis and judgement and the necessity of political participation for girls and young women? 
How can critical awareness, soft skills and moral courage be successfully communicated? 
We ask you to please propose further themes and wishes. 
Future Cooperation 
Content and objectives are the cooperation in the future concerning the support of girls and young women on an European level and the development of a scenario for the future for this subject area. 
Themes: 
How can the sustainability of Womentor take place on an European level? 
What common projects can be planned in the future? 
Exchange of Know-How and Best Practice Models in specific countries 
Research- and Evaluation Projects 
Projects in close-by areas 
We would kindly ask you to send us additions, wishes and propositions as soon as possible so we can organise the workshop.
